Insects
We all share our homes with a great number of insects, but not necessarily to our mutual satisfaction. If it comes down to a physical confrontation, the insect usually ends up being swiped up in kitchen paper and tossed into the toilet or bin. Yet this is not a permanent solution, according to the Animal Plagues Knowledge Centre. In order to be able to fight the insects in your home, you will first need to know who’s living under your roof. The top ten includes:
-
1
Paper and silverfishes
The paper-and silverfish is the most common insect in homes. The beast will feel particularly at home in damp rooms such as the bathroom but also in the attic.
-
2
Stock pest
Stock damagers such as the broad-horned flour beetle, cigarette beetle and larva of the dried fruit moth. Solution: remove food residue and clean the cupboards and / or basement, and place a dispenser with aerosol.
-
3
Carpet beetles
Larvae of this insect life of animal material and sit under more in building material where animal products are processed in (building felt, carpet, insulation material).
